Rally Racing, also known as rallying, got its start in Europe and was brought to North America. Rallying is a motorsport that takes place on public or private roads with modified production or specially built road-legal cars. Ralyying is distinguished by running not on a circut, but instead in a point-to-point format in which participants and their co-drivers drive between set control points.
Andrew Comrie-Picard, is a Canadian-born rally racer located in LA. He describes himself as a former lawyer, stuntman, writer, and producer with a pretty good run at racing.
Q and A with Andrew Comrie-Picard:
Q: What was your first off-road vehicle? How old were you?
A: Honda Odyssey 1978 Age 7
Q: Who or what got you into the offroad world and behind the steering wheel?
A: I did it myself, actually
Q: What is your proudest racing moment?
A: Finishing the Swift Rapids rally 2001, and the final rally of 2014.
Q: What are your three most memorable racing moments?
A: First X Games, First manufacturer sponsorship (Mitsubishi 2007), and the first time I knew I was fast.
Q: Who has inspired you to your successes?
A: My mother, for her ultimate traction
Q: What is that one moment that you keep replaying in your head? (I should have done this, or turned like that, or last minute race strategy that didn’t work out. Huge challenge or failure.)
A: I sometimes wonder if I had taken bigger risks on the final stage of the 2013 Championship if we would have won the championship. But we took some huge risks. It’s all about brinksmanship.
